Recreational Gymnastics Coach

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Recreation Program Director, the Recreational Gymnastics Coach provides quality instruction for our class participants, overseeing safety, and spotting athlete skills. This position is directly responsible for training, instruction, and coaching our preschool and beginner/intermediate recreational gymnastics students ages 18 months through 16 years old.

Primary Duties:

  • Lead training and development of all levels (Parent & Tot through beginner/intermediate) of gymnastics class participants
  • Monitor gymnastics equipment for safety, maintenance, and replacement needs
  • Set up appropriate stations and follow provided lesson plans and rotation schedules to ensure athlete safety and progression
  • Maintain accurate records of participants’ attendance, payment, and progress
  • Attend various continuing education meetings, workshops, and seminars as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be 20 years of age
  • Must have experience in gymnastics as a gymnast and/or coach
  • Prior experience working with children
  • High School Diploma
  • Requires background check within the first 90 days of employment (paid for by employer)
  • Requires CPR and First Aid certification done within the first 90 days of employment (paid for by employer)

Necessary Skills:

  • Knowledge of gymnastics skills/progressions and physical ability to teach and spot recreational class activities for athletes of all levels
  • Ability to work in an indoor environment with frequent interruptions and distractions
  • Skill in forward thinking and ability to identify problems or issues and develop effective solutions, resolve complex problems, and gain cooperation among necessary groups
  • Ability to work with a growing gymnastics program and participate in collaborative activities

Physical Demands:
This position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, hand eye coordination, spotting and lifting athletes of various ages and sizes, and or perform athletic training, instruction, and coaching.

Hours: 10-12 hours per week; MUST be available weeknights (after 4 p.m.). Some additional hours may occasionally be required for training or staff meetings.

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Men’s Gymnastics Coach

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Gymnastics Director, the Men’s Recreational Gymnastics Coach provides quality instruction for our class participants, overseeing safety, teaching on all Olympic apparatus, and spotting athlete skills. This position is directly responsible for training, instruction, and coaching our male recreational gymnastics students ages 5 to 18 years old.

Primary Duties:

  • Lead training and development of all levels (beginner/intermediate) of gymnastics participants
  • Monitor gymnastics equipment for safety, maintenance, and replacement needs
  • Set up appropriate drill stations and follow provided rotation schedules to ensure athlete safety and progression
  • Maintain accurate records of participants’ attendance and progress
  • Attend various continuing education meetings, workshops, and seminars as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
